A prolific writer/director/producer, Chuck Rose was recently hired to write a remake of the classic Danny Kaye film Up in Arms for the Samuel Goldwyn Company. Dreamworks-based Bandeira Entertainment (Requiem for a Dream, Tigerland) has acquired his screenplay, The Anniversary Man. Produced screenplay credits include the feature film Just Friends, which had its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. He is the author of the critically acclaimed play Weekend In Goshen, and has had over a dozen plays produced throughout Los Angeles at such prestigious theaters as The Hudson Theatre, Theatre Geo, The Angels Theatre and West Coast Ensemble. Mr. Rose founded the company Eleventh Hour Productions in order to expand into the area of film production. Their first film, The Elevator, which he wrote and directed, won Best Short Film at both the Denver World Cinema Film Festival and the St. Louis International Film Festival. It was also an official selection at the Toronto International Short Film Festival, AFI, Ft. Lauderdale and Temecula Film Festivals. It was subsequently acquired by PBS and is also available on IFILM.
Ms. Gaffney started in the entertainment industry as an actor in New York in 1991; she moved to Los Angeles in 1995 where she has gone on to write, direct, and produce films. In 1998, Gaffney produced her first short film, the award-winning This is Harry Lehman, starring Academy Award winner Ray McKinnon. Since then, she has worked as producer, writer, or director on over 12 short films. She worked on Save Virgil, an animated and live action short film, directed by animator Brad Ableson of The Simpsons, starring Gary Coleman and Ginger Lynn. Her directorial debut, The Silence of Speed, was picked up by The Sundance Channel last year. The first feature film she produced, Shot, was distributed by Blockbuster last June. Ms. Gaffney has produced two film festivals: the NoDance film festival in Park City (which toured to Cannes and South By Southwest) as well as the esteemed US Comedy Arts Festival’s Film Discovery Program. She is in development on a film she will wrote and will produce, In the Hands of the Gods, which begins shooting this winter.
An industry veteran with over twenty years of production experience, Richard Prince began his career as production manager on the film Personal Best, directed by the legendary Robert Towne. He has gone on to work on such films as The Bedroom Window (dir. Curtis Hanson), Nick of Time (starring Johnny Depp), Angels in the Outfield, Rules of Engagement, The Replacements, Only the Lonely, The Animal and The Banger Sisters. He most recently co-produced the hit film Saw (starring Cary Elwes and Danny Glover), distributed by Lion’s Gate Films.
A graduate of the American Film Institute, Mr. Schweich has shot several critically acclaimed independent films including Wind River (starring Karen Allen and A. Martinez, currently on HBO), Hurricane Festival (Winner – Best Cinematography, Dances With Films Festival), See You Off to the Edge of Town (Winner – Alpha-Cine Award, Seattle Film Festival) and The Flats (starring Chad Lindbergh). Erik C. Andersen (editor) In the early ‘90s, Erik helped introduce one of the first computer-based editing systems, Lightworks, to the film industry. These systems have revolutionized the way editors cut today. Since that time, Erik has worked on many feature films including: Madonna-Truth or Dare, Mighty Joe Young, Speed 2, The Ghost and the Darkness, Desperado, Four Rooms, Bring It On, and Down With Love. In addition to working on studio projects, he also lends his editing expertise to directors of independent short films. In 1997, he received an Emmy for editing Joe, a Video Public Service Announcement for the American Heart Association. In 2003,The Honor System won the Audience Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival and in 2004 Tackle Box won 8 awards including the Audience Award at Slamdance. Erik is one of 15 editors who authored the book Transitions - Voices on the Craft of Digital Editing. Erik has just finished cutting the short films 73 Virgins, The Box, Raw, and Stop, Blink, Look, which he also directed. |
